This Friday, the 15th was super hard. Daniel was just barely able to speak. He wanted me to make him a real meal, some steak and a large tossed salad, after dinner he asked for help to get a shower, so our Hospice people helped in that. Then about 8:30 pm he asked for a large mirror to be moved off the back of the door and be propped up against the dresser and a chair so he could see himself laying in bed, asked me to dress him all up in a suit and asked me to put on a dress he gave me a while back that he really liked and then told me he wanted to be able to see me up close next to him for me to lay down so he could place his arm around my side.

Daniel refused to take any pain medications as he did not want his mind to be affected by the meds so he could have more of his awareness. He told me my being up next to him reminded him of the last time we danced together and was so thankful for all we shared and loved here on this earth in this life, he passed away at 4:04 am on the 16th. I was awake the entire time and he just smiled and touched his hand on the side of my face and let out a breath of air and it was over.

When I can handle it, I will like to write a tribute to Daniel's life, his story, history.

i thank all the loungers along the way that have been real friends. Daniel and I have loved you all so very much.

Bless us all,
Cindy

It is so hard to say all I would like to say. The amount of pain in my heart is so deep, cuts right to my soul. I'm going to wait until I can gather my thoughts and find out it is acceptable from a Bartender to write about Daniel's life and how we both came to the Lounge and the growth being here added to our lives.

I can hardly see to type right now, have to thank all of you, each one of you, for all the love shared.

Greetings Cindy:
A Tribute to Daniel for all FL members would be so very kind of you.
He sounds like a man i would have liked to meet and enjoy company with. You two as a couple, i have admired from afar for quite a long while.
May God comfort you in His arms that He now holds your Daniel in.
With Love. Bowen

Dear Cindy,
How privileged I am to have known both you and Daniel, albeit a virtual friendship, an enriching one nonetheless. He was a great contributor here on the lounge and I shall sorely miss him. You will be in my prayers, as I think of Daniel, and the good memories of him.

Loses feel like you are suffering alone, it has to be, you were Daniels soulmate, his rock, his anchor in life. All that could be done, you did.
Now you must open your heart to all those who cared so much about Daniel to offer their love, prayers and support.
Those on the Lounge who have experienced bereavement will know your pain, and know too that you must bear that grief, but despite the feeling of helplessness, please know that you are loved, admired and greatly thought of, at this most awful moment.
Rest in peace Daniel. Peace be with you Cindy.

I avoid using the usual platitudes;that said,I hope you take solace in knowing you did all you could and that he no longer suffers.

Cindy, your love for Daniel and his love for you is an inspiration to us all! Your total dedication to caring for him I know was a blessing to him. I've prayed for you along the way and for Daniel, now my prayers are for you, that our Lord Jesus Christ will give you His Peace that passes all understanding and comfort you in the days ahead with the comfort that only comes from Him. May God bless you Cindy. Praying for you.
