Pinelli Hats

so yesterday while enjoying a beer at my friends brewery , Twin Elephant Brewery ... I was talking with an old friend named Donovan Pinelli .
we got on the topic of hats because I was wearing my thin ribbon Gannon.
he then asked me if I ever heard of Pinelli hats because his great uncle was the maker of these hats in the 1940s and '50s

I have seen these hats in my scouring of the internet for prospects ... very few... maybe two.... but I have seen them ... and have thought of Donny when I saw them ... but never dreamed that it was his family

.... well it is ... and now I really want one and want to find one for him as well

does anyone here have one ?

does anyone here have any history on them ?

he didn't know a whole lot other than they were made for a brief time in the '40s and '50s and that they were made in Hopelawn NJ

I actually just found one in more of a pork pie style and bought it for my friend Don

looking for another one that is more my style though

Absolutely off topic: "Twin Elephant Brewery" is an interesting name to a Copenhagener. This is the legendary Elephant Gate, leading into Carlsberg's original Brewery plant:

Hi, I just discovered your post. I don't know if you are still interest but I have a Pinelli hat that was my father's in very good condition. I'll attach some pictures. Do you have any idea what it's value is? I'd love more information.

$79 plus shipping. Based on listings (very few) I believe that's reasonable. I'm a New Jersey girl myself. Born in Perth Amboy General Hospital (now Raritan Medical Center) and raised in Edison Township. Are you from the area? I graduated in 1968 from John P. Stevens High School.
Always nice to meet someone else into hats. I have some beauties from over the years. The oldest is from my mom. Pill box with lace from the Kennedy era.
