I still find myself pinching, I started out that way with my first hats. They were cheapies, so I guess it was not all that bad. After reading I should use the brim, I started grabbing the brim instead. But, like I typed before, I still find myself pinching the crown every so often.

Perhaps we need Pinchers Anonymous? I do try to handle my hat by the brim, but when I'm not paying attention I go back to my old habits...

Well, I suppose I'm not as fussy about my hats (as I should be), but I also have an old wool felt hat that my Dad bought for me when I was a teenager (I won't say how long ago that was!) and I wore that hat everywhere. I grabbed it by the front and generally did all that we're not supposed to with it. The suprising thing is .... I still have the hat! There are no holes in the crown and, although the taper is somewhat off kilter from frequent wettings and dryings but the hat is still going strong.
Although it has fallen into the backyard work, fishing, backpacking hat it still gets al lot of wear.

I can just hear that poor fedora yelling. "Oowy that hurts!! Make him stop, make him stop!!" Reminds me of the time I saw a guy who got mad at his dog and he grabbed him by the ears and picked him up and shook him. It was a painful thing to see. Can a guy be arrested for fedora abuse??

Here is what the pinch looks like. And yes I did put the front crease in the crown, its not as tight as an Indy pinch ,but its the way I like it.

That thin ribbon man has style. Personally, I like wide a wide ribbon, but to each his own.

I think my washer just stopped in the middle of its cycle, hate it when the Tide regularly ebs and flows and I have to restart the thing.
