Idly looking around at current bike jackets, I'm quite taken with the classic look of the Helston's Fuel Dirt Track jacket:

I'm sure a lot of folks will like the two-tone, though I favour the plain black myself. If you look closely, you'll see that while CE arounr lurks under the skin on both sides, there is only a visible padded shoulder and elbow on the left side, reflecting the design of this being based on vintage dirt-track racewear, where apparently they only were concerned about falling on the left hand side, given they only ever turn left when racing on oval tracks in that discipline. I like that as a neat little detail. Sets it apart from all the other racer style jackets on the market.

Helstons are apparently a long-respected name in French motorcycling gear, but they're not as well-known outside France. Certainly not in this sort of jacket-fandom where the motorcycling function isn't as key for many buyers. I stumbled across them a while back when looking around to see what was out there in terms of mc gloves that both look classic and have CE level protection. Most of their jackets seem to be a variation on the café racer theme, though for my money the Fuel is the coolest looking one.

Wow, this one's back? They were making it years ago, that one and the NYPD patrol one. It's really nice!

Aero's black suede was a Bavarian deerskin. It had originally been intended for a collaboration with Iron Heart, but ended up being used for a few jackets when the relationship between the companies ended.

It's a really nice, albeit horrendously expensive, leather. There's a little tannery in Bavaria that tans the skins using fish oils. I don't know the process, but apparently it has a distinctive, and not pleasant, aroma when it's being prepared for a jacket.
