I love the leather and the way they seem to have cut the hem and back from the same piece of leather so there's continuity, but is it just me or is the jacket itself egg-shaped?

Just realized this beauty is a Fine Creek, amazing. Japan produces the finest Cossack jackets. There are several other makes that as impressive. This is one original that has eluded me. They were an very popular style in the pre-zipper era. These jackets were made before the side gusset was used, c.1934.

They are sewn front to back with the triangle section added for adjustment. This may add to the "egg" shape you are seeing. This is true old school construction. Hate to think what this cost!

So I got to thinkin . . . I often come across photos of cool jackets owned by others, and I struggle to find an appropriate thread to post the photos. Sometimes there is a brand specific thread, but other times there is not. Sometimes I am forced to start a thread for a particular jacket, solely to share the photo, even though the photo probably does not warrant a thread of its own. So, I figured its time that we have a depository for all the random photos we come across depicting cool jackets that we would like to share with our TFL brothers and sisters, so that we don't have countless individual threads for individual jacket photos. In other words, we should have a jacket porn thread (I elected to exercise a modicum of decorum and leave "porn" off the thread title).

Black t-shirts and jeans were already taken by Jobs and Zuck, so what is poor Jensen to do? He's late to the great wealth and cool looks party, he is an electronics engineer for chrissakes... (cue a short sleeve button-down shirt with a pencil protector), but he had a good idea for his "cool" uniform - a black leather jacket. But he's executing this strategy poorly, unlike running his company. He should join TFL, we would straighten him out in a hurry.
