Is it just me, or is Photobucket failing somewhat? I can't see anyone's pictures from it! The main page won't even load up, or gives me an error. I hardly think Hallowe'en snapshot traffic is causing anything.

Working OK for me too but I recognize the problem. A couple weeks ago the Lounge began running slow. And I found other sights not seeming to be at their max. Was getting all sorts of freaky error messages. I was checking my DSL connection and everything else.

The FL server was ultimately the problem here but I have found since like 1991 when I 1st got online that the entire internet bogs down and does weird crap at times. I know this may sound unbelievable but it just seems to be a random thing that lasts a few days and goes away.

Oh and I can't recall how many times I've gotten message that I have to reset a bunch of setting in the security section. All the settings were already as requested and it is just a waste of time.

I clean out my browser cache daily have latest Javascripts and every other software update but when it is contrary it's best to just leave it alone to save the frustration factor.

Relative to the way computers need to be and hopefully some day will be, we are in the infancy of things now. Our feeble little keyboard and mouse driven devices are rinky dink at best performing cheezy feats with arcane software. Reagrdless of your OS or brand it's all a compromise in terms of functionability/reliability versus productivity/usefulness. The house-of-cards software structures are far too reliant on any one particular item for what we will one day consider reliable.

All these sillazzed little pecadillos we face with these goofy machines will one day be evolved away to the point where we have true personal computers with verbal/visual interfaces that actually perform functions sought after by users instead of the circus crap hoopla that is crammed into them which 90% of the users will never use.

It needs to be as simple a possible, like most all things that successfully work, not unendingly complicated for the sake of it.

Leonard McCoy: Perhaps the professor can use your computer?
Montgomery Scott: Computer. Computer. Ah. [McCoy hands him a mouse and he speaks over it] Hello, computer.
Dr. Nichols: Just use the keyboard.
Montgomery Scott: The keyboard. How quaint.
