That's okay, I'm pretty much done with hat buying now. It'd take alot of activation energy for me to buy a custom. It's just sad that the hat industry appears to be dying out.
There are more custom hatters today than probably anytime in the last 40 years. A lot of these hatters don’t rely on hatting as their sole source of income, and many (most?) don’t have storefronts, but we are living in a good time for custom hats.
I really enjoy the process of ordering a custom hat. Sometimes I’ve let the hatter have a free hand and sometimes I’ve been involved in the minutiae of the processes. It’s all a lot of fun.
Let’s have no more of this “done with hat buying” nonsense.
