Big corporations protect their designs & enforce their trademarked names & part numbers from being used on reproduction parts aggressively when the possibility of product liability raises it's ugly head. If a second or third party is making a reproduction mechanical brake part for a Ford Model A identical to the original down to the name & part number cast into the part for Model A restorers, Ford is going to stop that immediately. They don't even care about what little revenue might be made on a licensing agreement. They deny all such requests. Just one example.but the issue might be with licensing. That grill might be offered by a third party manufacturer that is actually licensed to do so.
I wouldn't think a sweat stamping on a custom hat would be a problem. Should it ever become one just stop when you get the cease & desist letter from the attorneys.
