An inquiry from a fellow lounger about camel colored hat bodies led me to a quick comparison of the felts I have in the shop and I thought this might be of some interest to others. Bottom left is the Winchester pure beaver camel, top is a hat I made from the Tonak rabbit fur camel, and bottom left is the Fepsa rabbit/hare camel. Same color name, but distinctly different colors. As for me, I'm reminded of the story about the camel that walked into the bar and ordered....nothing.

Interesting. I have a hat made from what I think is a Tonak rabbit fur felt in “Caramel” that looks a lot like your Tonak in camel. The FEPSA felt looks interesting and more to my liking than the Winchester Beaver (as far as colors go). Too bad FEPSA isn’t easier to do business with.

It would be nice if we had a US distributor for FEPSA felts.

I have an order in with Rick. I asked him to make me a replica of Aberama Gold's fedora from Peaky Blinders. Thought I was finished collecting then this comes along. Asked for an August delivery as I am travelling....a long time to anticipate!!

Hey, it’s almost August, is your Phoenix close? I’m looking forward to seeing the hat and hearing your thoughts.

Thanks again for the Amicharnel information!

Yes, Rick posted it yesterday. I have my US purchases shipped to a US border town address so I won't be travelling across the border til Aug 14th so will have to wait . I will let you know when I get it and I get back home on Aug 17th.

That's one sharp lid, Brent. Really nice!

I haven't seen the powder blue in person so hesitate to comment, but it seems a little too blue for my taste. I do, however, love the bluish-gray color of the blue smoke felt.

I have a 50s Royal Stetson in a similar blue smoke color and I love it. It changes from bluish to more gray depending on the light and what you wear it with.

Thanks for your help. I tried for the blue smoke first but the 36 hat body minimum order requirement from Winchester meant I can’t get it from Phoenix. I’m still thinking about asking another hatter to make me a hat in blue smoke, or was it dove, nope, definitely limestone.

Your Stetson Royal is a great looking hat. Hard to find vintage in my size but I keep looking.

I have 2 to be more accurate, its a stunning shade, the ither one has a Silver hatband.

Look different even when its the same shade.

Along with natural, Powder Blue is an underrated shade

You rock that color. It’s one of those hats that I like to look at and admire but I can’t see myself wearing it often. I’ll probably break down one of these days as I’m running out of Winchester’s colors.

Next to your Black Cherry, this is my all time favorite hat of yours. You got me wanting one again, time to get in the queue.
