I try to avoid anything petroleum except for my car of course so I use this stuff

this is a gross usage but it keeps my nose from bleeding in dry weather. yes the normal vaseline works too

I've had a tin of Kløver Vaseline for ages. The packaging leaves little to desire and I have a general aversion for yellow but it's cheap and readily available. I use it at night over my lips so I never wake up with dry lips. If it's very dry and cold outside I'll wear it over my lip balm and lip gloss or lipstick offtopic: I finally found a use for lip gloss, great for winter use wouldn't dream of using it in the summer - gross with all the insects and skin cancer risk) and I know some mature women who use it as a make-up remover but I'm pretty sure my skin would object to that. Recently I've begun to use it on my knees and elbows as well and they haven't dried out since.

In the evening I put a little vaseline on my eyelashes... the old wives tale is that it's meant to make them grow longer and faster.

I also scrub my lips quite gently with a toothbrush and then slather lots and lots of vaseline on and then when I wake up my lips are all lovely and soft

Well whether there's actually any proof that it makes them grow I can't say, but it certainly gives the illusion of long, healthy eyelashes. I like it, anyway

I don't have acne prone skin and I've tried it on the occasionally healing zit. It usually just makes it fill up with pus :-/

I know mature women who have gorgeous skin because they use vaseline as a moisturizer or as a make-up remover but I'm sure my skin would just break out in zits galore!

Like Fleur I occasionally like to pretend I'm posh and use the Rose & Co "it's not vaseline honestly, look, it's pink" balm, and I also used the Boots Original Formula skin balm. I rotate them depending on how rich I'm feeling.

I don't use it as a face cream, I think it would be too heavy for me, but I use it on my eyebrows to keep them under control and as a lip balm. Sometimes I use a tiny bit around my nose if it's very dry, and of course it's great if you have a cold to use on your poor dry nose.

My best tip with vaseline though is to slather it all around your hairline and ears if you dye your hair at home, like I do. It makes any accidental drips much easier to remove and I don't end up with bright red ears!

That's the one I use as night cream. I tried it in the morning but I just look like I've dipped my face in chip oil for most of the day, but it seems to work great overnight.

I like creamy vaseline. It goes on easier and smoother, into the skin, than the norm. I use it at night since I've been at the pool and river alot already this summer, so my skin is dry. Next day, no ashy!!

Back in the day when my Grandmother had to hang laundry out to dry in the freezing cold, her hands would crack and bleed. Someone advised her to put a layer of Vaseline on her hands before going out to hang the clothes. I guess it was a miracle for her. Now I never heard if she got Vaseline on the laundry, but I suppose if the weather were that bad, it might have sublimated off....

I use if on dry elbows and heels in the winter myself.

We do to do that in the salon I work, and I works amazing, esspecialy very handy when someone wants a dark or red collor.
Oh and I once used it to fold over the ears of my collie, but they smeer the vaseline all over the place so that was not very handy, (maybe if you have 1 dog it will be ok, but I have some more)

I'm with you sister, I can't imagine using the vaseline, even the non-petroleum stuff, as a face cream. started using vitamin e cream (the brand is Jason, in health food stores) on my face and oddly enough the acne ish is getting better. also recently started using fftopic: aveeno's face moisturizer spf 70 and that's not causing me fits either which is amazing most sunscreens break me out worse than usual

I use the Vaseline in the little pocket-sized tin that is made with Aloe Vera made for lips. Smells lovely and is smooth and creamy. There is also a Rose and Almond one and SPF15 one. I don't slather it on by any means. Just use it on my lines and my skin looks so much better for doing so.

There is more rubbish in the moisturisers I had been using than in a little bit of Vaseline.

There are always loads of little [and large] vaseline pots all over my house.
I do remember stories from my father about having to eat a spoonful of vaseline when he was little!
Vaseline, along with aqueous cream are staples for me. I was prescribed aqueous cream for my sensitive skin as a young child but I still use it now. If you have any kinds of rashes or skin complaints aqueous cream normally calms it down - plus it's quite cheap to buy in pharmacies.

I used to be a die hard vaseline/aquaphor user. But for me the stuff only sat on the surface of my skin, and never really fixed chapped or cracking skin. I'm becoming also less and less keen on rubbing petro-anything into my skin.

I use unpetroleum like crazy. It has really helped me stop chewing my cuticles and really helps to knock out my pre-eczema patches. I'm not sure that I would use it to remove eyemakeup, but I definitely use it as a lash conditioner. Basically, anything I used to use vaseline for.

I like unpetroleum because it has the staying power of vaseline but actually absorbs.

AND Its pretty cheap, got my giant tube at Whole Foods for $3.99.
