Great! Can't wait for a head shot!

Quick noggin shot at the studio

I had them make a slight alteration to the Tank and flatten out the brim sort of OR style .... still a Tankersley without a doubt.

I love it!!!!!!!!

Tankerskey? [emoji4]

Looks good, Ant. Is the brim 2 5/8"?

Makes me want to get another in natural, and I haven't worn the first one out of the house.

Sent directly from my mind to yours

damn sausage fingers on the phone ... sorry for butchering your name and the name of my hat

haven't measured the brim .. it would be whatever yours is

I haven't worn it out of the house yet either ... was at the studio when it came to the house and asked my wife to drive it down :)

So the Tankerskey is in hand

My first impression is that it is beautiful.
Wonderfully shaped and the green ribbon is almost black... Gorgeous .
Very well made .

It is quite a bit more stiff than I imagined... Almost feels brittle.
Brittle to the point where when I slightly squeeze it I hear cracking sounds

and it is a bit snug which I'm a little upset about... so obviously not very comfortable.

I'm not a big straw guy and don't know much about hats that are this stiff...
... Is it safe to give it a nudge with the stretcher or am I screwed with a beautiful hat that is too small ?

I'm also curious why it is too small when I gave him the exact measurements I gave Michael Gannon and John Penman... both of who's hats fit wonderfully.

I love the hat
The question is can I even wear it?

No you can't but I can... I certainly would ask Shane abt the sizing issue. They are stiff and will take a stretching.

S'good. Just gotta make sure folks order the right thing. LOL.

.... and they should order one ... it's a great hat

I urge anyone out there who digs the look to call the boys at Peters Bros. and say I'd like a Tankersley with extra cheese

After two days of shenanigans with FedEx, I have my PB hat. I ordered an Open Road style hat, or what Peters Brothers refers to as the Shady Oaks, after the famous felt hats they made and that were named by Amon Carter. I asked for a 2 7/8" brim width.

Out of the box the crown was too tall for my liking, and as Rick mentioned, the cattleman's crease seemed odd, too. The center dent was too narrow and the pinch was too tight. The fit was also a bit tight, as others have mentioned. After steaming, the stiff hemp weave softened up and I was able to reshape it with a crown block, then lower the crown by hand and give it my preferred cattleman's crease. I also gently eased up the size with a hat stretcher and re-flanged the brim to give it more curl. Although the brim is 2 3/4", I like the proportions after reshaping.

All in all I am very happy with it. It has a nice sweatband and it's everything I wanted. I like the look of it, and I'll be wearing this hat a lot this summer. I'm seriously considering ordering another one in another style and color.

Wow I am thinking that all these hats from Peter Brothers are just so darned nice, they are almost "sinfully" attractive.

I have to wait a few days to make sure my purse can swing ordering one. Can I tell them a measurement for the size and opening dimension? You know like I would need one that measures 8 1/2 by 6 1/2 ( 7 1/2 LO) to fit my Husband? And I am seeing some different colors of the ribbon and some on brim trim...anyone know what colors they could offer for the ribbon treatment?
