Exactly. Think this may be the first naval style A-1 I've seen.

This jacket was specially designed to commemorate Buzz Rickson's 20th anniversary, BR being a branch of Toyo Enterprises, the owner of Sugar Cane and co-producer of MF x SC.

It almost looks like it could be some kind of hide - split steer or something. Or maybe some kind of Drill I guess. But a great look either way.

If you get any more info, please let us have it here;)

Looks like heavy waxed cotton-canvas (similar to Filson's shelter cloth fabric jackets). The early 1930's Navy 37-J-1A jackets were of similar construction (though it was a light olive drab/khaki color).
Pretty cool jacket!

Thank you Gentlemen ;-) The body fabric is navy blue Jungle Cloth (same as MFSC deck jacket from a few years back). The photo makes it look waxed, which would be a cool perso option. Lining is same specs than early USN peacoats hand warmer pocket bags. Ring buttons (an old mil surplus stock, white composite with engraved anchor). Will have full specs on the clumsy website closer to issue date, sometime in Sept 2013. Cheers.

@ MF-- Job very well done on the Pensacola! And I'm sure this forum will also be very excited to see what you have cookin in leather as well.

Here are some pics of a new and a well worn MFSC Deck Jacket (mentioned above).
