Pattern/Material Description for Hardy Amies 3 Piece Suit

I am struggling to describe the fabric and pattern of this vintage Hardy Amies suit. Suit is lightweight and quite crisp so I am assuming a blend of some sort???? Colorwise, from a distance it looks brown but up close you can see the multiple color threads. The term crosshatch keeps coming to mind but I don't know if that is really correct.

I have searched to find similar examples but nothing seems to quite fit. Any thoughts?

Please forgive me if I have posted in wrong place...if there is another thread more appropriate, please direct me.

"Hobnail" or "Sharkskin"

It looks early-to-mid 1970's to me, but I'm no expert.
