Her look doesn't seem adoring to me. She appears to be peering down the street as if waiting for a bus or taxi to turn the corner.

One of the most famous landmarks of 1920s Paris, the original Shakespeare and Company which was at 12 rue de l'Odeon from 1922 to 1941.
