Finally viewed it yesterday in the movie room on campus. Marvelous film. Just marvelous. Now I have to see Last Picture Show, I suppose. "Just 'cause a man meets a woman in a barroom don't mean he's your pa." Perhaps I'll buy the book Addie Pray. I did not know a TV show had been made; perhaps I'll try to get it.

I was not expecting black and white, straight-up imitation/homage -- I was thinking it would be more of a Bonnie and Clyde type of thing in color with overly long hair hanging out under the backs of people's hats -- ugh. But no, Paper Moon was just picture-perfect.

One of my all time favorite movies -- it came out when I was 10, and I wanted to *be* Addie.

I also remember the TV show -- which, sad to say, did not quite capture the magic. Jodie Foster didn't yet have the edge needed to play the part properly. Plus they filmed it in color, which was absolutely bone dumb. Even though there's no way a black-and-white series could have gotten on the networks in 1974, they still should have tried.

I agree.

Addie reminds me of my daughter. The early scene in which Addie is sitting in the restaurant with Mose and demands her money, repeatedly and loudly, in particular - - Dominika could easily play that role (in a few years).

Also -- is Mose her father or not? Or did he only find her mother's funeral from the newspaper obituaries? It is clear that he reads them.
