Does anybody wear a panama? Seeing as it's almost centuries old as a hat concept, I thought it would be an interesting summer addition that would easily fit in with 20's to 50's in particular. I've ordered one. Does that get me barred? Actually, if it does get me barred, I'll return it tout de suite I promise!

Phew! As you can tell gents, I'm far from a hat aficionado yet. Like it MG-B. Mine however is the female version - bigger brimmed, smoother lines. I will now crawl into a corner and burn with embarrassment.

Panama Hats

A friend of mine has relatives that make them in Equador.

I just bought a nice Dobbs - "Capri - Shantung Straw Fedora".
Can't wait to wear it.

It's a shame more women don't wear them. They can be very alluring.

I had been wearing my Panama every day for the past two weeks, until June turned to April here in the northeast.

Panamas are great for the hot weather. Very light and let the air pass through.

Given the historical Scottish connection to Panama (not that the hats are made in Panama), it's a good move.
