I've only been here a short time, and I've really been bitten by the bug! I hate to be a braggart, but I thought you may enjoy seeing a few shots of my newest hat. Robert has provided me with the most gorgeous hat. It's one of his Montecristi's blocked by Gus Miller as a striking Optimo. I love the thin, vintage ribbon.

Nice hat! I'm waiting for my first Panama Bob hat to arrive. It's been more than four weeks, and I check the front door for a box every day. Bob's web site says don't order if you can't wait, but guess it's ok to order if you can hardly wait, which is what I did and I can...hardly wait, this is.

Sorry for the wait. We have "employee" problems a couple of times a year, it seems, then we have the other hatter on the Islands who buys hats from under us with his armed henchmen in Pile, or bulldogs the weavers, specifically the best weavers, from selling to us. Lately, it has been a bus crash that killed a few, but spared my brother-in-law, save for a toenail, and torrential rains that are slowing everything down.

He lost a toenail and is bumped and bruised, but okay. I hate to be callous, but if he would have gone to Montecristi the week before, like he was supposed to, he wouldn't have been on that bus. It was 3:00 AM and he was heading for Montecristi, a tractor trailer was coming down the hill and the driver was asleep. It took the bus out, killing at least three people on the bus, and then went through some houses near the road. I'm waiting on the local newspaper article.
