Many thanks for all your comments. I feel better now about wearing it.

The Dane: Very observant. The Montecristi shot was taken on Mykonos, the Cuenca Panama shot was taken on Santorini - both last month.

Duper: I purchased both from the same hat shop in Mykonos Town, the Montecristi last month, the Cuenca last year. The owner claims to go to Ecuador to buy his Panama hats in Montecristi and Cuenca. I believe mine was even blocked in Montecristi. I fully realize none of this may be true and that I may have purchased a Cuenca forgery. I guess I will never know for sure. It's still a fine hat to my eyes.

I've been known to occasionally "pet my panama" with clean and damp fingers. They'll let you know when they need a pet. They are pets, right? [huh]

That's interesting; my addiction for hats was rekindled last year when I purchased a Cuenca Panama in the hat shop on Mykonos. I purchased my Montecristi from the same shop last month. I agree about Santorini's beauty. Here I am in Oia last month wearing my Cuenca.

The inexpensive Panama Bob from ebay arrived very early.
Nice hat for the price.
Packaging is excellent.
Stingy brim but what I needed now that I have a car.
Very oversized , but had a little doohickey ( adjustment strap with Velcro ) to make it fit.

Habana sold montechristi

This hat has been posted previously by Buler - I add a few outdoor shots below. It is a very lovely weave and blocking. The hat has a break at the peak of the crown - a flaw that might bother me if I weren't also aged and flawed. I love it as it stands. Interesting Habana, Cuba provenance.
