I rent a studio apartment next to the garage in a single family home in a working class neighborhood overlooking the bluff above my local beach. I don't frequently go much further than 1.9 miles from my apartment.

Specs:
2-3/8" x 2-1/4" Dimensional brim (with 3/8" overwelt)
3-3/8" Crown
1-7/8" Ribbon
106g Weight
This arrived to me quite some time ago and has remained in storage. As you can see it's seen better days. The straw body is stained throughout, there's a slight tear in the ribbon, the reed is broken, and the sweatband is about 3/4 detached. I wanted to try to freshen it up but the more I looked at it the more I began to appreciate it for what it was. This hat has character and a story to tell, so I've decided to leave it as is for the foreseeable future. If/when the sweatband becomes completely shot maybe then I'll try to freshen it up a bit. For now it wears its scars proudly.

Nice catch. Not common and a nice fine weave on it. Lovely.

I had it recontoured by my hatter, but I will ask him to change it back the way it was, because I lost too much crown height View attachment 275537 View attachment 275538 View attachment 275539 View attachment 275540 View attachment 275541 View attachment 275542

Incredible Panama hat, Max. Hard to believe they can make a hat with more than double to WPSI than this hat!

Now for a summer garden party complete with your finest ‘30s attire to show it off!

He said "Éste está muy fino" - this one is very fine. "Cuánto te costó?" - how much did it cost you? "Como 1200 or 1500, verdad?" -like 12 or 15 hundred, right? "Dólares, digo" -dollars, I mean...
Then I told him I got a good deal on it, because it was second hand, but it was worth more, and he said "sí, se ve que sí" -yes, I can tell.

I remember seeing it on Etsy and thinking it was perfect. Just a gorgeous Panama hat. I do think I like it better how I originally saw it, but that’s a great hat no matter what!

What did Ignacio have to say about it? Does he get excited over exceptional hats or is it just work for him?
When I take him a really good one, he opens his eyes in surprise.
He did that today with the Stetson Forty you sold me.
