Just bought MAC "Taupe." Actually, I've been wearing so many other colours besides red that when I wore red the other day I felt it was too bold lol

I recently got a hold of a Mac Mattene in Rare Exotic (bright fuchsia) and love it! It lasts so well, perhaps even better than my other Mattenes and the colour is lovely.

One of my favorite lipsticks is MAC's "Digna", it's a very dark berry color.. I love it! Not "every day material" but great for the evening, in my opinion. It's a limited edition lipstick, but I've seen it at the CCO multiple times. That's actually where I got it myself! :)

Also.. first post, hi Ladies!

Dunno if your should be asking for advice in this respect
I all comes down to your skin tone and features. What looks good on others can look horrible on your and the other way around. Best thing, even if a tad expensive, is to try out different colours and see which best suits you.

I favor red, but I also love corals. From soft corals like Guerlain Mitsouko, to bold corals like MAC Hibiscus. I also like nudes such as MAC Innocence Beware, High Tea, etc when doing heavily smoked or very colorful eye shades. I go in cycles. :)

Since this Fall, I have been wearing dark violets every now and again, when I'm in a silent film star mood! Lena Hoschek's F/W 2012 models wear it very beautifully with '40s styles, too.

Alright....I just bought Nicki Minaj Viva Glam lipstick today and it is my new favourite. It's a very bright orangey pink. It's very NEON and makes my lips look they are are photoshopped on lol The texture is perfect for me -- not as greasy as the Lady Gaga lipsticks, but not overly-dry. Not for everyone, but I LOVE IT!

I'd really like a nice, mid-50s peachy, corally lipstick. Thing is though, warm colours just don't look that good on me - I generally have to have blue-based red lipsticks, and there's even a noticeable difference when I'm wearing clothes in warmer colours - my skin just doesn't look as good. I've tried Revlon's Tell No One shade, and it turned bright orange on me and brought out all the yellow in my teeth and made my skin look sallow. [huh]

Any ideas? Is there such thing as a blue-based peach lippie?

I really like Revelons lip butters. As mentioned in another thread, candy apple(red) and raspberry pie(crimson) are my new favorites. These go on glossy but are not wet like lip gloss. For me they lasted, my lips did not feel dry. Especially when I was singing, my lips tend to get very dry. Not this time around. Plus in the other thread it mentioned lining the lips with Revelons just bitten lip stain. It worked out so well since I didn't have a lip liner to match the raspberry pie. While using the lip stain I just filled in my lips with the stain (color flame) and left out the gloss. It worked like a dream my lipstick did not bleed, cake, or feather.

I looove Korres' Mango Butter Lipstick in Coral (No. 45). It's about $8 more than Revlon though.. I'm not sure if you were looking for a similar price range or not.

Here's a swatch (not mine)

Lately I've been interested in 50s corals. Revlon Moon Drops lipsticks ($7-$10 at drugstores) still make several of their "original" shades from the 60s. They were listed in another thread - 24K Orange, Crystal Cut Coral, Persian Melon, Apple Polish, and a few others. I picked up 24K orange. It has a nice moist texture and that great "old makeup" smell.

Emily - You might look at their Crystal Cut Coral. It is peach, but has a lot of pink.

I love using Mac's Viva Glam VI and III, Clinique's "A Different Grape," or Buxoms "Vanessa" gloss when I don't use red. Revlon has a great Black Cherry color that I love too.

I just bought a bunch of the new Beth Ditto collection from MAC. This is a collection I am actually excited about and love everything about it! I bought the "Dear Diary" lipstick and it is magnificent!!
