Not really my style, but the price was right and the prospect of owning a Borsalino that even Stefan @steur doesn’t had a strong attraction ;)

A few defeats this week.
Cervo in blue which I bought, but seller declined to send over. No response, no nothing. Some people are strange.

A Barbisio I bought which was withdrawn, because seller's brother didn't want to sell it after all. Turned up this week on Ebay for a higher price than I had bought it for. Riiiight. View attachment 436511

Another Barbisio I bought, but seller withdrew because she thought it was worth more. She would sell it to me for a higher price though. Thanks, but no thanks.

I was seriously outbid on this Stetson 100. It was an Ebay auction, so belongs in another thread, but fits nicely in this row of defeats and gripes.

What a bunch of crap... going back after agreeing to sell an item, that's petty, rude and plain dishonorable... that really burns me... folk'd never do that in person... there'd be consequences... Sorry Steur... you seem to be taking it much better than I would've...

Well, I do share the sentiment, but I find it's not really worth me getting all upset over. It does help to shrug this sort of behaviour off if you have a few hundred hats sitting on the shelf already though.;)

Here is a recent pick up. It is actually a bit large for me which is odd considering most vintage hats I’ve purchased recently are smaller than their size. The crown is close to 6 1/2” and the brim 4”. The sweatband is a very soft and supple suede material which I’ve never encountered before. The crown felt is stiff but the brim felt is very soft. Overall a cool hat.

Here is a nice victory. I was worried this would turn out to be a 6 1/2 but it is a legit 7 1/2.

That's a fun looking hat. Not heard of Fayrefield before - i'll have to google it.

Do you think that's the original bash, or was the hat originally a Homburg? Or I guess it could have been a bowler, if they beat the stifferner out of it ;)

p.s. I bailed out of Facebook some time back. It had turned into one big cesspool.
