That was a quick shipment. Got the Resistol today and it’s a size 7 1/4. Great! Looks good but needs a few things done and will turn out looking sharp. 5 1/2 crown, 2 5/8 brim.
It’s nowhere near the color depicted in the photos, which makes it even better. Looked like another silverbelly with tan trim, but instead Army drab olive colors. Don’t have a hat with these shades so, perfect! Nuther Rolnick for the collection.
I need to start selling again...
Great news!
Good news for my situation too. The seller refunded my money within minutes of my message, and I don't even have to return the pieces!

Found this Dobbs “Nor’Wester” on line:

Unfortunately, it’s missing it’s liner, but here’s what it should have had:

Based on proportions and ratios, I’m guessing this is a small size, but it’s quite a hat.

I’d pursue it if there was any chance it was my size. At least I got to see it on a screen.

If the liner was sold separately I'd go for that one first. What a thing! Cool looking hat though. Never heard of that one before.

As opposed to the Intense weather attached to its “east” counterpart…. The Nor Wester while also quite strong seems to derive its intensity via liquor.

I was high bidder for 2 seconds

I lasted about that long and was going "deep" (which is a relative term apparently) as how often do I see a hat this old in my size? And then all hell broke loose. I think Stetson referred to these as "novelty" hats -- such a cool lid. I hope this ended up with Max, Daniel or another Lounger. I'll try and stay in my lane going forward (which is $15 hats).

I thought I had a chance at $250 but this one didn’t go under the radar. I missed out on the two Resistols that were also up.

Ha. An honor to be mentioned as a potential winner! We’ve got one or two others throwing down for these pre-30s hats. We all want it to go to a good home.

I was in there for about as long as everyone else, maybe a minute and thirty seconds. I went ahead even though I didn’t really want to bid on a big hat, because it would have weighed on my conscience for months…. ;)

I’ll post more pics after it arrives. Problem is my uhual arrives Monday and I have to wait until I finish 2300+ mile journey to get to it and enjoy it.

I felt the same way, Bob. How often and with such beautiful embossments?

I’d wager the ribbon to be original, I’ve seen some similar on old Austral's posted round here. Also kinda looks like hat ‘1033’ from Justin’s 1902 catalog that was recently relinked.
