Wow, Lefty cuts quite the profile.
Nice grab, Joe.

Looks promising....
Thanks Bob... They hammered me on the shipping... but should still come out ok.Glad to see you win those Joe! I was curious as well, but ... not my size. Can't wait for the reveal.
It certainly does. They keep flooding in, Joe.
That's a victory for sure, John. Great catch.Hey everyone!
I've been hoping to find one of these in decent shape and at a reasonable price for some time. I was thrilled to see this one on Etsy. For 32 bucks shipped I can deal with a few cracks and dings.

I dug out an old funky rabbit felt with a miscut brim for a test stretch. Looks nice!

I may have to finish off one of those buntals I recently found after all!
Have a great day!

If the cracking starts to spread or causes creases when you block a light felt I have great success in using wood filler on my vintage (old!) blocks and flanges. I use one that is quite runny to get good penetration....a little sanding and lacquer to finish gives them new life.Hey everyone!

Thanks! I'll keep that in mind in case the cracks worsen. There isn't a crease with a heavier felt. I'm hoping there won't be any more widening of the cracks, as the seller said she used it in her millenery business for 20 years with no issues. If the cracking starts to spread or causes creases when you block a light felt I have great success in using wood filler on my vintage (old!) blocks and flanges. I used it first on my vintage flanges as the wood is very dry and parts of the flange had degraded and turned to dust when rubbed. Thanks! I'll keep that in mind in case the cracks worsen. I’m thinking this might be good for those long dry spells...or at least on Wednesdays. View attachment 325257
Should it be called an "Emerson Top Hat" if its a bowler...

...with an Emerson straw stuck in it?
