Hi, fellas! Here's a new thread to lighten up the mood, a section to show off our pets (everyone can chime in). Here is a photo of my stylish Pomeranian, Lance. He loves hanging out in the living room while we watch Netflix. Aside from that, we also take him out to enjoy a bit of the sun and cool breeze, that's why we have one of those dog strollers, it's a bit more convenient than a dog leash, mind you. He also loves to play catch in the afternoon and cuddles up to me before bedtime. So, that's my pet story, what's yours?

Great looking hound, Henry. Lots of pet friendly folks around here. Here's a link to an existing thread.

After our second cat, Katy, passed in 2009 at the ripe old age of 24, my wife almost immediately decided she wanted another when a friend told us her brother's cat had a litter of kittens that were looking for a good home. By the time a meet-up was scheduled only three of them were unspoken for, and we went to take a look. We arrived, met the brother, and were "introduced" to the kittens. To two of them we were the least interesting thing in the room and they were far more interested in playing than meeting us, but their sister made herself comfortable on my wife's lap and fell asleep. She did the same thing when my wife transferred her to my lap, and we took this as a sign that she was the cat for us. So this is Shadow...

...who had commandeered a temporary pile of jackets and made herself comfortable.

A year or so later my wife decided, after nearly 30 years of marriage and several cats, that she wanted a dog. Long story short (yes, believe it or not this is the short version) she found a young lady whose Miniature Schnauzers had produced a litter, so again we went to take a look. Nice young lady, the parents and their pups looked healthy, so we dove in and started playing with the puppies. Once again we were the least interesting thing in the room to them, but one stood out as being at least a little curious about us so my wife picked him up. He squirmed a bit, but soon settled into her arms and stared at her face. After a few minutes she handed him to me, and he immediately relaxed and rested his chin on my chest. Believing this was a case of lightning striking twice we took him home, and he's been a wonderful addition to our family. This is Butch...

...when he was about a year old, resting comfortably on a bed he destroyed the next day by tearing the stuffing out of it. His tail had been docked, but his ears had not been cropped (and so far we've seen no reason to have that done) so he doesn't have that "typical" Miniature Schnauzer appearance. He's also considerably larger than almost every other Miniature Schnauzer we've seen, so we refer to him as a "not-so-Miniature Schnauzer". Whatever the opposite of "runt of the litter" is, that's Butch.

These are all such great stories; thank you for sharing them. I am now catless for the first time in maybe 43 years. These things happen and I enjoy looking at your cat pictures. Still have the dogs and the horses, but no cats. Maybe again someday.
