Original Suspender Width?

I know the answer to this question is somewhere on here but I have yet to find it,so here goes. What was the standard width of braces between the 20's and 50's? Was there a standard size or did they depend on the garment? Is there a company that sells the original size?
I order the 1 1/2 inch widths from beltoutlet.com. Would these look strange on vintage stuff or does it matter?
Just curious

I don't think there is or ever was a standard width but if you really must know you could direct your query to Albert Thurston (contact@albertthurston.com) who have been making braces for prit near two centuries. The owner, whose family started the biz, will respond in short order.

Tomasso, I sensed a hint of sarcasm in your reply. I dont't have to know. I just did'nt want to buy braces that make me look like a clown.
Thank you for the link though. They look like quality made suspenders.

I'm not an expert on braces, but from what it appears to be in b/w films from the era 1-2 inches would have been about right. Towards the late 50s and 60s braces would have become narrower, the same way hat brims, ties and lapels did; though braces would have become increasingly rare anyway except perhaps on older more conservatively dressed people.

I was a little out of it

Yea Big E, I read the post before I had my morning coffee and I guess my fuse is a little short that time of day. His post was helpful and I realize he had no ill intent.
