Howdy folks. I just stumbled upon a photo on pintrest of an original B3 but the collar had brown shearling and the rest was the standard cream color. The flight pants were brown shearling too! Does anybody know anything about these? What's the story. Did the Aircorps make them and we just didn't know about them?

Huh no info for ya, but a cool mix on the jacket. Looks like a b6 collar size there.

Looks like they took a few jacket ( or other fur available ) to make one...maybe end of conflict, nothing else available prior the B-10 and B-15 contracts...

There were a small number of black-fleece Irvins distributed during the war - limited resources during conflict, nothing serviceable gets turned down.... Stands to reason the same happened with the B3.

John, that's a great photo! I'd really love to have another B-3 with dark fleece, that'd be so gorgeous!

Are there any photos of the black fleece Irvins?

An ANJ-4 is way way way warmer than a B6. I have an ELC B6 and it's good down until freezing. A nice ANJ-4 will take you deep into the sub zero range.
