on a whim, I emailed Optimo and asked about getting 2 boxes. $40 per box and $35 shipping so $115 out the door. I was afraid I'd have to pay shipping per hat box. I looked at Sarah's site and for the box with insert it's $55. So, 2 boxes would be $110 - shipping would have to be only $5 to match. You have to call to place the order. But it also ships fedex 2 day.

I find the VS and Black Sheep round boxes to be tight with a brim larger than 2 1/2" and I have to be very careful in the placement. I buy the craft boxes from Michaels that are square for around $15 each. They are really solid, well built boxes with an integral lid secured with a Velcro strip. I then build an insert like the NW Hat boxes. They stand up well, stack solid and hold the hat with lots of room so I don't have to be picky about how I place them in the box. They are not 'manly' looking as they have seasonal designs but they work real well for under $20 a box.

My problem then would be figuring out what to do with all the vintage hat boxes I’ve accumulated.
