Opinions needed! New (to me) Langlitz Fighter Jacket....

As I mentioned in a previous thread I scored a used Langlitz bomber from the Bay. Didn't need another bomber but a chance to get a Langlitz? Too much to pass up. So it wasn't made for me and the fits not perfect why not take a chance? I can always return it to the "continum".

Opinions needed:

Length - I thiink a scosh short but I can live with it.

Arms - Spot on.

Shoulders - Spot on.

Body - I can live with it but they can add some give to either side and make it a more comfortable fit. I'm fine with it long as I just wear one thin layer underneath.

For everyone who says there's a dirth of Langlitz Love round here.

All the pics look good and comfortable except the first one - which looks like it might hurt the 'pits'?
I think it also looks short mainly 'cause of the shadow on that first pic - the others look good. I'm amazed that thing fits over those guns of yours!

Length looks fine to me, though the knits seem a bit stretched at the bottom, which might make it 'feel' short? (I know what I'm trying to communicate here, but I'm not articulating it well, I know...). The pockets are big, though their size, and the handwarmer entry at the sides, is along the lines of fifties jackets I've seen that developed the bomber style for a civilian market. Very reminiscent of the Schotts etc that all came along after the war, and common to see being worn by rockabilly guys today that are looking to replicate that civilian look rather than an accurate military jacket look. Quality looks good.... I'm sure it's outstanding. I've never had a Langlitz, but I know their reputation for quality.

I agree with you on the pockets...they accentuate your girth.
Also the length is a tad short .

Basically, when I wear my jacket...it's so comfortable & fits "spot on"
I 'm not aware of it all the time,unless someone pays me a compliment.

But overall if you got a good deal & can live with it...:eusa_clap

And I'd disagree about the pockets "accentuating your girth". They just look like map pockets to me - that's all it says to me.

First off you have a great look going on in these photo's.. I'm digging the hat, the shades and the boots.. we need to get you in some good denim and your straight...you're in the jacket and can zip it up so it does "fit". It's a bit short to the people you asked to scrutinize the jacket, so its really not that short... keep it, wear it, great addition to the wardrobe...how many zero's in a good deal$$ for a Langlitz anyway?

Looks good all around to me if it's not too tight - agree with Butte about the first picture.

The length looks good to me. It covers the top of your back pockets and you can still get into your front jeans pockets.

Don't think there's any issue with the pockets. They're so big that they just give the jacket a unique look.

The upside is that you're probably the only guy that can fit a Samsung Note in his jacket pocket

Thanks for the honesty folks. I want honesty, particularly in used jackets cause I can always "pass em on". I think I'll leave the jacket "as is" and keep it. It's just so damn drapey and feels so substantial... But damn those pockets! Can't get em removed... dang it.

Fit of the jacket looks good to me, if you feel comfortable in it then it's ok, personally don't feel it needs modification. To anyone seeing you it looks good, doesn't give an impression that it's too small at all. I'd avoid stuffing too much in those cargo pockets though. But then I'm not big on cargo pockets in general. Good purchase I'd say, enjoy it!

For me Worf, one of your most endearing qualities is this willingness of yours to wear and enjoy something that isn't quite perfect; sleeves that are too short for example. I can respect that. And if it isn't bespoke I feel the same way

I think what it really boils down to here is how does it feel when you put it on? Do you feel like smiling, or does it make you feel like dancing, or do you feel like a badman with it on or what exactly? Basically, I reckon what I'm saying is if it feels good on then definitely you oughta keep hold of it, for now at least, as from these pics there's nothing wrong with it that you are overlooking

Thanks for the compliments... yes... my current fave jacket, the one I've gone to whenever it drops below 60 is Butte's trusty ole Goodwear Capeskin A1. I can't git my chest in it sometimes and the sleeves are too short but I love that jacket dearly (sorry Boyo). Thanks for the love... I hope to try on all the boutiques that make things in my style/size. I doubt I'll ever get a Mushman's of course, well mebbe around one leg. But it's so interesting to see how the different companies approach the same thing. When the dust settles who knows I may give AL a try! This is all still new to me but I'm loving it. Each parcel is like a new potential love... to be explored and admired. Picked up my first Akubra last week too.
