Hello all, I have been thinking of ordering a Buzz Rickson B-10 form Historic Preservation Associates. I normally find a 42R. suit a little snug through the chest and a 44R. too large. Does anyone have any experience w/ the fit of the Buzz B-10 and what are your opinions on authenticity. Thx.

Haven't owned a B10, but have had a few others. They're pretty much spot on in terms of quality; perhaps even better than the originals.

As for fit, if you know how you take an original, you're good with the Buzz equivalent. Note that a sz 44 is more of an XL or even XXL in a nylon jacket tho. I wear a sz 42 (and sometimes a 44) in most leather and suit jackets, but a 40 in MA1/L2Bs....

I owned a Buzz B-10. I usually wear a 40 Long and the std size 40 fit pretty well, with a bit of extra room all round. Very warm. So, I would dare to go with your regular size. I have a 39-40 chest, 157 pounds, 5'11 tall.

Sold it off. I didn't like the roomy fit or the darker coloured knits so much and the collar didn't look like the 1000 WW2 pics I'd gathered ...
Have you considered ELC's B-10? I personally prefer this model, it fit me better, more authentic collar shape (debatable) and the knits match the colour of the body... Generally looks better and is IMO a better jacket.

Both jackets are of excellent quality and are very wearable. The alpaca lining and mouton collar make one feel a little plush until you get over it and wear the darn thing ;)

A lot depends on what you want to wear under it, IMO. It's a warmer jacket than an A2, and I'd be looking at it from pov of something I might want to wear a chunky sweater under than something to throw on over shirtsleeves in milder weather, a la an A2.

I prefer the Superior Togs pattern w/ the contrasting rust colored knits. I know that is a matter of taste. The difference in price between the ebay model and buying from HPA is about $40. If I could save $100 or more on the buy it now I would consider the all green Rough Wear pattern. So at that price I will buy what I prefer and and can return for size exchange if needed. Any other input?

The eastman is nice but will cost approx. $200 more than the Buzz Rickson

I too prefer the Superior Togs pattern from Buzz. In fact I have one on order from HPA. I ordered a size 40 as I have an original in that size which seems to fit my 38 REG suit size OK. Speaking with HPA, I went with the 40. And they told me, as SHOWSOMECLASS says, I can exchange it if need be.

For the sake of forty bucks, I'd go with buying new, myself. I like both the Buzz and the ELC, but od those two I'd definitely jump on the one that's the cheaper by $200! YMMV, of course. ;)

My concern in regard to fit is not the shoulders but the chest. A 42R. most of the time fits correctly in the shoulders but puckers in the chest when buttoned. I am 5' 10", 35 inch waist and weigh 200 lbs.

I ordered my B-10 from HPA during the summer for delivery sometime in October. As these jackets are rather seasonal, I think they replenish their stock that month.

The topic of fit was discussed w/ the rep at HPA and he made a suggestion based on my height, weight, and waist size. The B-10 should arrive on Monday. Can't wait!

Hello all, the jacket arrived. The quality was great. I ordered up a size because I am between sizes.
Well, up one size up was too much. Especially the sleeves were too long although the shoulders fit well.
BTW HPA was awesome and had made a note of my previous order and concern w/ size and fit.
I will keep you posted.

The B-10 arrived today in my actual size 42R. Nice fit, light and comfortable to wear. The under arm gussets allow for a much greater ease of movement for putting on your seat belt (for example) before driving the car. I love the jacket and good quality throughout.

I also own the Superior Togs Buzz in 42. It fits pretty well.
The only problem I have is that for me at 1.85m the jacket is quite short. Since it's very warm with the Alpaca lining I can only wear it when it's below 8C or so. But then I get cold at my kidneys. I've been thinking of selling it a few times, but it's such a great jacket. I might wear it with my motorbike kidney warmer beneath ;-)
For longer jackets ELC has a long option and I've also heard that the Pike Brother's B-10 comes a bit longer.
And I've read somewhere that the Real McCoys B-10 is a bit longer but couldn't get that verified.
