Four Black beautiful hats that are a little too large from me. 1930s - 1950s. I've kept all of them for many years but perhaps they will see more daylight in another Lounge member's collection? All prices include shipping in the continental U.S.

Knox Excellent 7 1/4. A beautiful and very unusual pre-war Knox hat... not a homburg but a rolled brim soft hat with an unbound edge. The wonderful styling has formal overtones... a black sweatband, fine white piping separating the midnight blue and violet sections of the silk liner. The head opening measures 6 1/2 x 8" - true to size 7 1/4. The crown as creased measures 5 1/4", the brim is 2 1/4" wide. Excellent condition throughout. I have kept this hat for many years despite it being too large for me to wear. $375 releases it to another home.

Furry French longhair fedora. Origins unknown but likely felted and constructed in France. The felt is firm, unlike the very soft Austrian/German/Czech velours. Size 57, with head opening 6 1/2 x 7 3/4" - conforms to U.S. 7 1/8. Crown is 5" as creased, brim is 2 1/4" Era is unknown and difficult to pinpoint as is often the case with European hats. Excellent condition. $235 includes shipping in the U.S.

GLWS. What I would purchase is too rich for me, or too small. You have some nice hats here. Really beautiful.

Why is it that, almost invariably, when I look at a group of objects for sale, my eyes pick the most expensive?
