I'd have to say that I'm the relative who always means well, and never gets too involved in the day to day intimacies of the family, although I'll occasionally chime in with a nicety or small piece of semi-obscure information.

I"m the uncle or cousin that nobody is familiar with because when I arrive i am always asked to take a look at something in the basement or garage and see if i can get that fixed. when I show up in the crowd, few people know who i am, then i get pulled away to help out with something else.
