A NOS Campagnolo Gran Sport headset (not a pista as I were told by the seller).
NOS Reversible 55mm Nitto stem (VIA approved) which needs to be polished up.
Twisted temporary handlebars with Benotto "Paris-Roubaix" tape.
Campagnolo Aero seat post and binding bolts.
New Brooks "Swallow" leather saddle with steel frame.
Campagnolo bottom bracket with thin-wall alloy cups and a hollow 109mm axle with World logo, marked 70-P-120 and a mysterious Z?
Sugino "Super Mighty" 165mm cranks (which needs to be polished up) mounted with NOS Campagnolo 48t chain ring, chain ring bolts, crank bolts and dust caps.
NOS Campagnolo Pista pedals with ICS steel toe-clips and Brooks straps.
D.I.D chain and MKS Chain Tensioners.
NOS F&S "Komet Super" single speed coaster hub (36h) currently fitted with a 17t cog and laced (2x) to an Araya Super Aero 24h rim.
A strange 20h front hub laced (radial) to an Araya Super Aero 20h rim (the QR is now gone).
Michelin Pro 3 Race Tyres with latex tubes.

A little less than 8.7 kg total.

With Schwinn tires. The rear light housing was being cleaned when this photo was taken. My 1952 Black Phantom is in the storage shed. And all are very comfortable to ride.

This classic beauty was Schwinn's answer to the Aerocycle.
The '36 Cycleplane incorporated many features (front forks, chain guard, rear rack) but at an
affordable price. The Aerocycle's price tag was $$$, especially in 1930s depression era.

btw: The horns that these beauties were equipped with...nowadays are worth mucho $$$

Dismantling before galvanic nickeling

It might be too late... & unless you will be doing this yourself,
I hope you have a complete inventory of each part before submitting to the place that will do the "plating".

Very difficult to tell if some tiny parts happen to be missing from the total unit. To the shop it might be
just another screw or brace, but you know that these original parts are very hard to come by.

I have to say yours was a rather handsome bycyle!.

Restoration continues. I'm quite rushed and also don't want to invest too much in another ladies bicycle, so i decided to replace chrome plating with glossy zinc plating on handlebars and small parts such as brake lever etc. and parts of frame with silver metallic paint. Rims, fenders etc. should be ready for painting within next week. Frame and forks are done. Only remains to draw golden links on it.
I should mention the fact that up close it looks not so nice as I'm not an varnisher and I'm totally inept, but it will be probably roadworthy and paint will possibly also last a while.

Do you do the zinc plating yourself? And if so, how?

I have a bike in mind for restoration, it is a ladies Raleigh bike, the paint I may chose french enamel grey as per the scouts cycling handbook but the chrome handle and pedals are quite poor
, mind you the bike is about 60-70 years old.
