I hope he doesn't kill or injure someone when he is drunk and behind the wheel or toting a gun. The laws that keep non-famous people from habitually offending would likely be helpful.

LATELY?!?!?!?!?!? It would be news if he WEREN'T "having issues" and getting arrested for being drunk & disorderly, drugged up or sexually assaulting someone... As has been said on lots of Web sites, he's got the correct last name to fit his demeanor.

Rip Torn has been charged with breaking into a Connecticut bank and carrying a loaded firearm while intoxicated, The Associated Press reports.
Police say the Emmy-winning actor, 78, was arrested Friday after police found him inside a Litchfield Bancorp in Salisbury, Conn. drunk with a loaded revolver, according to the news agency. Torn was arrested and charges against him include burglary and possession of a fireman without a permit.

Rip Torn was interviewed several decades ago by Studs Terkel for his wonderful book, Working. It's one of the best sections in the book. Mr. Torn is a rebel among rebels.

Last I heard, Rip Torn thought he was walking into his house, but it turned out to be a bank. That kind of thing used to happen to me all the time when I used to drink a lot. Now it only happens every once in a while because I drink in moderation.
