For the past few years,i have been scouring the internet for the Old Time Radio Shows,or O.T.R as they are commonly known.I have found thousands of free to listen to,and free to download shows.a lot of sites sell the radio shows on dvd's for people to buy,but seeing as most are so old, they are out of copyright ( i think that is the phrase ),it is a bit of a rip off.
one of my favourite sites,is called: www.archive.org put old time radio into the search, and thousands of old time radio shows turn up,from the dimension x series, jack benny shows, the haunting hour, but wonderfully enough, all the suspense shows, with all the 1940 - 50's hollywood actors telling the stories, from lucielle ball, cary grant, edward g robinson, judy garland to agnes moorhead, vincent price, etc.you can hear all the james stewart western shows and alan ladd mystery shows.
all are downloadable to a persons windows PC computer, just right click and: save as.for macintosh OS 9 and OS X users, you may only be able to listen to them using the netscape 7.1 browser for macintosh, and only in a browser window.
For real time live listening to original Old Time Radio Shows, where a site runs and replays loads of Old Time Radio Shows for free, visit: http://www.mystery-otr.net/mpir-radio/
there are loads of sites dedicated to Old Time Radio Shows on the internet, just google: Old Time Radio, and a beautiful list of sites turn up.it is a real joy to discover people are so willing to cater for Old Time Radio Show fans like me,so i must thank them all,for their kindness and dedication in keeping it all alive and free.
