I actually found a framed copy of this one a few years ago, which i gave to My Brother-in-law for Christmas, he was living in NY at the time:

But i had not seen any other of the others, those are Great!

Maybe I've seen too many horror movies but doesn't she look like she could come to life in this photo?

I remember a while back I saw the one with the bust in the park somewhere on the internet. I've always loved that one because it gives you a great sense of how big that head is! :eeek: I haven't seen the other pictures before. Thanks for sharing these!

I see her all the time. Most recently on the ferry going to Governors Island. She never fails to bring a lump to my throat. Anyone who is not dazzled, moved and inspired by the Lady in the Harbor has something seriously wrong with them. My one trip to the top was when I was young and agile, in 1965. But I've always been in love with her.
How amazing must it have been to see her towering above the rooftops of Paris in an era when only a couple of Cathedrals rivaled her in height. Remember, not even the Eiffel Tower had been built yet at that time.
The arm and torch were set up in New York's Madison Square for a couple of years. You could walk to the top of the torch and get quite a view. This helped raise money, and interest in the project at a time when governments just didn't spend money on such things.
