I here ya - When I started driving in the late sixties fin's were out and muscle was in. But a performance car cost big bucks and a big finned classic could be had for a song. So I grew to love the low wide track look with GM's factory version of a chopped top and the cool interior design with room to move.
So I have fond memories of laying in the back seat of my 60 Chevy.

Well there's been more songs written about Cadillac's than any other vehicle. And Hud drove a caddy.

Ever see one of these? Probably not. It's a concept car, a Corvette Corsair, 1953 that was never produced. Why, you may ask? Only 300 1953 Corvettes were sold. With a wimpy 6 cylinder engine and a 2 speed automatic transmission, it was woefully under-performing and unable to compete with actual sports cars of the era.
I think the Corsair would have been a hit both then and would still be desirable today. The treatment of the rear of the car is reminiscent of Porsche coupes both then and now (356 and 911)

There are some cars from the US that will always evoke the sin of covet.

Mind you, I would want a personal chrome polisher to go with it.

This Buick really appeals and not too much chrome to polish, only problem would be, having to buy the neighbour's house in order to garage it.

Electric cars will inevitably be the future, one day the fossil fuel will run out, then, like old railway
stations of the steam era, sights like this will be no more.
