Well the front IS tortoiseshell but looks more like leopard to me, the ear piece is Violet & the inside is a slightly lighter shade of violet

I got the Ray-Bans too. This was taken with the demonstrator lenses in because I was so excited. They are having my prescription put in right now, can't wait!

oh! it's the violet ones, I thought it was the all-tortoiseshell ones! You can't really tell in the picture. They do look really fab. I didn't win the auction last night of the vintage ones I wanted, so now I think I'm just going to bite the bullet and get these ray-bans instead! they're a perfect shape and you don't have to worry about them falling apart!

Edit: OK, I just went for it! I ordered them online from www.designerglasses.co.uk, they were the cheapest I found at £86.50 (incl. postage) for prescription anti-scratch and anti-glare lenses. It says they should come in 5-7 days! So excited!

LinaSofia~ I'm sorry you didn't win the vintage ones I have tried many times to win a auction for some vintage cateyes too. But I'm a little glad I didn't because being that old they probably wouldn't last to long with me as a wearer anyway. Wow thats a deal! I paid $204 & I have to wait 2 whole weeks to have the lenses put in.

Yeah, I'm really excited about these ray-bans! They were indeed a bargain!! I'm lucky that I don't need a new eye test or anything and could just order them online. One day I'm sure I'll get a vintage pair, but for now I'm just too excited to get these! I got the red ones (or pink as it actually says!). I'll post a pic when they arrive.

If you want to be 100 percent Ultra Authentic, you'll need actual glass lenses, not polycarbonate -- but I don't know if they're even made anymore. Last time I asked for glass the optician just gaped at me.

Hmm, they are available in the UK - I always get them as they do indeed look different from plastic lenses. For UK ladies, find an independent optometrist, they are far more accomodating than chains.

I agree those are adorable I keep looking for some with tortoise that precatseyes but they are difficult to find in a realistic size.

oh nooo... just got an email from them and the red ones are out of stock and won't come back in stock for 6 weeks. So I've gone for the violet ones instead! I wear so much red that I thought the red ones would go better, but maybe it's nice to break off with another colour

Finally found my reading glasses! But it turns out that I might actually have astigmatism, I'll get that checked out soon. And in the case that I do, I'm going to see if I can use these frames.

When I was still short sighted (I had a laser operation), I wore a vintage butterfly model myself, but I didn't look half as good with them as you ladies.
