Of felines and suits...

When I find a suit I like at the goodwill, I try on the jacket to see if it fits and is worth taking to the changing room for closer investigation and a full rig out.

I couldn't believe my luck Fri night. Three suit jackets fit! I took the suits to the change room for a full try out. On closer examination, the left front on all three jackets had been used as a scratching post by a cat.

Almost identical damage on all three.

Two Zegna and one Hugo Boss gone thanks to kitty.

I'm keeping my wardrobe door firmly closed from now on.

Oh cats. You can’t live with them, you can’t live without them.

I told my tomcat that I would cut of his b***s if he ever touches my clothes. It worked. He apparently doesn't know the doc fixed him a year before.

Well that stinks - at least you noticed the damage before buying. Many moons ago I bought a really nice vintage DB jacket from an outdoor flea market in NYC. It was January and really freezing. I wore the jacket on the subway on the way out later that night. The subway car was blazing hot, and I was wearing an overcoat, and soon the ambient heat began to release the unmistakable smell of 'marking' by a randy tom cat! People were starting to move away from me on the car, to the extent that I had to turn around, go home and change. The jacket went straight in the trash, and it took a couple of cleanings to save the shirt and overcoat.

A while back I found my most agile cat walking along the shoulders of all my suits in the closet, just checking things out. No damage luckily, he's able to jump that high straight from the floor. But I'm careful to keep that door closed now...

When our cat was a baby she took to sleeping on top of our clothes rail. The shoulders of all our jackets were hairy and grey! Fortunately she is too big for that now.

awww kitty! :D

If out cat ruined my clothes, something she is highly unlikely to do, I would just go BAD KITTY and ignore her for about 3 days. She wouldn't starve or anything; she lives with mama, but she would know something was very wrong without me pestering her.

It's amazing what we can attribute to cats abilities and thought processes. They are all different and have personalities with the brain the size of a walnut no less. Keeping closet doors closed is an imperative.

My Max, a cat defying dachshund, has a thing for any clothes that may have dropped to the floor. A number of t-shirts and socks have been shredded by the puppy. A number of shirts are sans buttons as he decided buttons are the equivalant of puppy Pez.

Pets and clothes can be a volitile mix.

This thread brings to mind my favorite quote relating to these worthless animals:

How could you say that about a boy as good looking as this?
