I was actually saying wow to the fact that someone cares enough to trawl through past sales to sabotage someone's sale.If you don't like the price, don't buy.

Two weeks ago a TFL member reached out to me in private asking for advice, whether I thought £800 / $1k would be a fair price for this jacket (apparently that was Al's asking price). I remembered having seen the jacket listed in the classifieds before so I looked it up. Apparently Al was looking to double his money at the expense of other loungers who sold the jacket for half the price.

Meanwhile it was @Al 916 who reached out to me on several occasions to lecture me about my behavior here on the lounge (saying things as they are).

I have a couple of (I won't call the Loungers) guys and their followers on 'ignore' for homophobic/racist bullying of a few new Loungers in Easter.

I don't know who you're referring to but that's not me.

These people are desperate to troll for attention, I think like you most decent folk see through this sort of thing.

Thanks for bringing that up Al. I see that policy too and notice it’s seemingly not enforced.

I guess you feel it should only apply to members who don’t fit your high standards of conduct, or in this case aren’t your “friends”.

And btw, calling me a homophobic racist is an utterly ridiculous insult that shows you know absolutely nothing about me, my family or my life. I have never blocked or ignored anyone on this forum in 13 years. You will be the first.

Funny, I received a similar message.

I have cropped the members name to protect their privacy. I did state my opinion and provided a link to the original sale price so the buyer could make an informed decision for themselves.

I suppose in so doing the seller here feels inclined to label me as a racist and homophobe. That’s rich. A “long term” member of a whopping two years.

Sadly some appear to be obsessing about things that are ....not outerwear.

The Lounge is about Leather (wool etc. Jackets and coats) and appreciation of them.
Some people have severely (and sadly) missed the plot.

Peter, you are 100% correct. That said, I don't think it's good to profit from other TFL members. I strongly believe that if you get a deal you give a deal to other TFL members to avoid a "Tragedy of the Commons" type situation. I don't know what Al did customization-wise to his jacket so this is not an indictment on him.

I generally like all the TFL members going back and forth in this discussion so please don't think I'm taking sides or stirring the pot here.

This! This is how it used to be. And still is to some extant with certain members.

The sleeves on the OP’s jacket appear to have been made shorter (not mentioned by seller, bad form) which reduces the jackets value as now it’s non-stock and outside original manufacture spec.

I have no interest in it and couldn’t care less other than receiving questions about its value which should be plainly apparent by the seller and not require detective work on the part of the buyer. Regardless of its transparency in a simple google search.

Aside from that, baseless personal attacks by someone I don’t know should be enough to get the offending party banned but these feckless noobs seemingly escape without consequence.
