Novels Set during Pacific Theater of WW2

I'm looking for some novels set in the Pacific Theater during WW2. I know this could go in the Reading Room (and bartenders, please feel free to move if necessary), but thought I might get more responses here.

Also - if anyone knows of any novels set in the immediate postwar period of Marines returning from the Pacific, that would be great, too.

Not about Marines, but A Town Like Alice by Neil Shute and The Seed and the Sower by Laurens Van Der Post are very good.

Tales Of The South Pacific by James Michener may be the best known, both as a Pulitzer Prize winning novel and as the basis for the musical South Pacific.

A Town Like Alice or anything by Neville Shute highly recommended especially R101 aka Slide Rule which was partly about WW2 from the perspective of an airplane manufacturer.

Let me double down on Tales of the South Pacific ... it is nothing like the rather silly (in comparison) Broadway show or movie. It's an amazingly well written set of fictionalized vignettes from Mitchner's life that touches on a lot of different aspects of the war. Super stuff.

I have a ton of non-fiction stuff but you asked for novels so I'll leave it at that. Even South Pacific isn't really fiction.

The Thin Red Line is the middle book of James Jones's trilogy.

From Here to Eternity is the first, immediatly prior to hostilities.

Whistle (which I thought was called Memphis) is the third, dealing with circumstances just after the surrender.
