The lizard is not for me, but I had a pair of Luchesse boots years ago. They were ordered from the fellow I bought boots from at the time and then refused. He sold them to me for the balance owed, so they were priced right for me at the time. I've never had a better pair of boots since.
I have worn boots every day for decades and have owned lots of different makes. Luccheses have lasted better than any but 3 times more pricey custom boots. I can get them full resoled several times before they are done. Many reputable brands are often not worth the first resole as it looks like the leather is done and the heel counter is collapsing. This has been true of Lucchese 1883 which now may include Classics. There were Lucchese 2000 boots versions that were less costly and less durable.
