I just love those well sculpted collars.

Picked these up from a church rummage sale for $1 each. ;)

First, the white shirt.

Two rows of stitching along the edge of the collar. The collar is 2 3/4" long and has a lot of shape to it.

At the bottom of the shirt:

The tag:

Inside the collar:

I date this shirt from the late 1940s to early 1950s based on the fact that it's of the "Century" line and the 1952 ad shown below:

The second shirt.

The collar is not as shaped as the white shirt, but the points are still 2 3/4" long and are closer together. Only one row of stitching.

Again, at the bottom of the shirt:

Also, both shirts have this insert stuck inside:

No date on it. Even so, I think this second shirt is a tad earlier than the white one because of the different tag inside the collar, though not too much since they both have the same style insert. So, 1940s for this shirt?

Vintage shirts aren't my thing and I'm just now getting my hands on some good examples, so if anyone has anything to add (or correct) please do so.
:)

Cheers,
Will

Thanks, guys.

I was lucky to get 'em, I almost skipped going to the sale 'cause I had to get ready for work. Glad I went!
