I guess that makes sense for a Panama. They start to get nice and stretchy when you wet them. I wonder if Milans would stretch the same. Maybe not?

Wow! Mike sure seems to do some nice work. I may have to call him about a beaver Stratoliner clone, instead of the Strat Premier I was thinking about for Christmas. Those prices are amazing.

I would encourage you to do that. I have a mink Premier Stratoliner and it is a nice hat, but Mike does great work. I bought a hat from him, a silverbelly in a kind of Whippet style and it is great. I ordered a second hat from Mike almost right away. Take a look at his website and especially his facebook page to see some of his work. For just slightly more money you get a much nicer hat. He's is great to talk to as well, very helpful.

Has anyone had any contact with Mike Miller lately?
He seems to have fallen off the planet, no updates on facebook.

I pray that all is well with him.
We all have Too many bumps in the road of life
It is just that i ordered a hat from him in mid April, a cross over ( Open Road type)
Good communication and then stopped on June 6
He refused a down payment, which is my customary way
I looked at the Eugene Obits , found nothing.
The U-Haul place is still there. Not great people to work for
I refused an offer from Tim, Crane Rod since money is tight being retired.
Don't want to be obligated for than one hat at a time
Guess I will start over with someone here.
Most likely Tim or Major Moore
BTW very nice CRM hat Richard ,the one I have is splendid
Alas, even the young hat makers are fading.
Any update would be appreciated
Richard

All is well with Mike. I've talked to him. Shoot him an email or try calling him again. He's had a crazy busy summer with the day job, so I can understand the pause in communication. He's making and sending out hats daily, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Call him.

I too hope that this is a temporary set back.
I spoke to Mike in June and placed an order, I have not heard from him but to be clear, I did not expect to until he was ready to begin working on my hat. Mike offered no specific timeframe because there were other orders ahead of mine . He estimated that he would get started on my hat sometime in September or October and that I would hear from him then.

I know that hats are not his main business and I hope all is well with him. But if he has had to "fold his tent" as it were, I hope he will contact those of us in the queue so that we can make other arrangements.

I suppose only time will tell.

AnA's and 1mach1's posts came in while I was typing my response, glad to hear that Mike is still up and running.

Mike is fine and making hats to fill all orders. I just talked to him and he has had an increase in business so his wait times are a bit longer. If you email him you should get a reply as he said he tries to look at all his emails every evening. No worries about him falling off the planet. If you have already tried, I would suggest emailing again, as he does try to be a good communicator. He is constantly upgrading his work. And is always looking for ways to improve what he does. Still the best deal on a custom beaver you can get.

Thanks Gentlemen;
I did not call to pester him after all telling me he was busy, after all I had no monies in the game.
However, he did email me yesterday stating he would be working on my hat over the Labour Day weekend.
More important to know that he is well.
Richard
