I bought one of his sale jackets. I gambled on the size based on Mark's advice and it was spot on. The jacket is my favorite that I have had and Mark was a really good person to deal with. I will be excited to see the new site.

Here is my jacket. The leather is a nicer colour than my picture shows. Below is a better indication of the Portofino Cognac colour.

This looks like a nice design, what is that?

Thx for all the kind words, guys! @edward, yes it's goatskin (the same stuff JC is using on his usn jackets).@simonc, customizing should be no problem. Mark is very open to design ideas from what I understand, so if ya got a mod in mind or perhaps an idea for a totally different jacket, I'd suggest ya give him a buzz ;) the wait time for me was approx three months; he's a one man operation and doing this on the side, though I understand he is trying like gangbusters to make this a full time operation. I think the world would be a better place if he could invest full time to designing an making these jackets. Mark told me he's mainly focusing on the civilian jackets with the launh of Norshor, though he has plenty of A2s on his résumé.

Very nice Bret what colour is it? I don't really go for these type of motorcycle jackets (that is what it is, right?) but the back on this one looks first class. Definitely another maker to watch out for

Schitz, thx man. This jacket style is considered an aviator, like Aero's Bootlegger or GWs Mojave.

It's made from veg tanned dark seal goatskin. The same hide John Chapman currently uses for his M422, AN6552, and G1 jackets. Deep red undertones, almost eggplant (if that makes sense)

Here's one of JC's photos of the hide

Beautiful jacket man. I really love the cut, very clean silohouette :)
I really think you would like how Alden's CXL Jumpers would pair with this hide. I have a jacket made of deer skin where the coloring is very similar to the picture you just posted and my Jumpers go perfectly with it.

Thx man, i think youre right re boots. #8 shell would go perfectly!

I am down to cap toe Alden's (eg jumpers, pitt boots, or the ones offered by jcrew) or White's (Semi Dress)

Any of those are good bets. I haven't dipped my toes into the shell cordovan offerings, but people seem to really love them. Also, J Crew has sales all the time and I've read the sale codes sometimes work on Alden.

I bought a henley that was made by Homespun Knitwear on sale a couple of months ago, the code didn't work on the computer, reasoning was because the henley was not a J crew product, but I tried the same code on the mobile site through my phone and it worked. Not sure if the loophole would work again, but it's worth a shot for anyone that wants non J Crew made items with J Crew sale prices.

That's a much better shot of the hide Bret, I think we'd all like a piece of that.

I know full well you're a sick man - your sickness is well documented on these pages - but am I right in thinking you had a big cull not too long ago and that you're now down to a ridiculously small (ridiculously small for you that is) number of jackets? Was that you or somebody else - either way, how many have you got right now?

Schitz, haha! Well, its true that I have obsessively bought and sold a whole mess of vljs and nylon flight jackets over the course of the last three or so years (around 30?) . Trying to slow down on it, as it would find me on ebay for hours (upon hours) of my day (meaning nights!). I am currently down to three (this, a GW A2, and a langlitz cafe), with two more in the production queue (another GW A2, and an Aero HB). I like to think that I've hit my limit with leather jackets, but thats a likely story  Next on my jacket list
are a button front cloth cossack, an asymmetric pocket chore coat, and a Lee 91B. Sickness? Yeah, probably :D (but you ain't exactly innocent yourself there, buddy!)

hey, I don't deny it! But I seriously reckon it is a 'sickness' - of sorts - and I must be afflicted too cos even when I get one I'm really pleased with I still find myself thinking about the next one in no time at all.

Anyhow, I've decided 3 is the limit for me. Any more and I can't give them the wear they deserve. which leaves space for just one more..

Ben used to have some photos here of the M1941 zip front jacket in cordovan leather that Mark made for him. I really love what Mark did with that design.
Post them again Ben!!

Hi, Jeff: I would if I could, but, the software app I used to load the pics originally has changed hands and the pics are gone. I have the original pics on a portable hard drive; that is inaccessible to me at the moment. Layers of frustration. When I can fully unpack from my move to Seattle I'll load them up again. Might take a bit of time--I'm off to the Wyoming Dinsaur Center tomorrow morning for a stint in the Jurassic boneyards. In the meantime, maybe Mark has a pic or two of the M1941.

Ben, I still have the pics you emailed me awhile ago.

Fantastic jacket Bretron, Mark's jackets really are amazing. I can still remember the pictures of his first foray into jacket making that he posted on here!

Does he still make the Stratoliner? Always had a soft spot for that.

My Jacket was a test jacket based on Luftwaffe / 30s-50s European Motorcycle jacket. There are still pictures on the blog section of Superior's old website under 'Jacket Production'. Its pretty cool that the new site has created a buzz before properly launching. All eyes are on Norshor now :)

Nice jacket... not my style but the leather and stitching? Top notch from what I can see. Man if I only had the body to wear something like that. Thanks for sharing...

Congratulations bretron that's a keeper!

Here's my Mark Fisher made aviator half belt using the same pattern.

It's Italian Horse Hide, worn lots on and off my bike so it's seen some bad weather. Wonderful jacket!
