I have a Beaver brand hat called "The Major" in a dark grey, and it looks very similar. Mine has a 2" brim and that one appears to be in the range of 1.75 - 2". Every now and then I see the Beaver Major hats on Ebay. They're not as soft as the older Stetsons, but decent quality.

I agree, you can buy a decent quality hat in that color range and have it tweaked to match the look you want.

Thanks everybody.

Thanks for the warm welcome to the lounge.

I knew about JJ Hat Center in Manhattan before joining the board, but had never heard of Bencraft Hatters in Brooklyn. I will be making a trip there very soon. I checked out their website and I guess the one that is the most similar (as another poster suggested), is the Como by Borsalino. Any more suggestions on which one to take a look at when I go?

Thanks.

I think it looks a bit more like the "Centercrease By Biltmore" but the price would draw me to that one in the first place. As well as I already have a Biltmore and I know the quality. But the Como by Borsalino looks very nice as well.:)
