Yes, you have it on email. Not doubting you, but the Schott rep is just wrong. 3 oz. leather is 1.2 mm, 3 1/2 oz leather is 1.4 mm and 4 oz leather is 1.6 mm.
The standard minimum for riding jackets is generally considered to be 1.4 mm or 3 1/2 oz.
