So 6-12 jackets a year!?!? That’s a nice backlog you have!!
I should have clarified..that’s across all of my hobbies..jackets, boots, knives, custom wood items...
Everything I have kind of serves a different purpose, so I end up with about 4-5 items from each category.

Yeah I saw those. I’m not terribly confident I can wear the natural CXL with my newborn piglet skin tone. I might just go direct for a black one. Vanson said 4-6 weeks to restock a 42”....4-6 weeks eh.....

Ha ha I laughed at that.
Another similar jacket that I almost chose instead of the Oxford was the Model F. Thurston still show it on their website. I really liked the chest pockets placed a little lower but I understand that’s not to everyone’s taste.
It fits the same as the Oxford and comes in a heavyweight cowhide, brown or black. Priced very well too.

Yep. I scoured the site when you mentioned you got yours through TB. The F is cool. Little fancy for my taste. Cool though. If you ever get sick of yours. You know what to do.

Vanson sold out in a 42” and TB has no plans to restock:(
I’d have to go custom and that might take an eternity...

The Oxford and the Enfield both look a lot alike, the main difference being that the Enfield has no center seam down the back (a plus, if you ask me). Vanson's site says that the Oxford is the Model D, but with a shirt collar, while they describe the Enfield as a casual, looser fit jacket. So maybe you can size down one on an Enfield, I dunno. My Enfield in HH that I bought from Technovox a while back is a size 40, and fits pretty snug, like I would like it to, and I normally wear a 42 in most things.

The biggest and most important difference for me is the collar. I like the sharper points on the Oxford. The Enfield has a bit more rounded and smaller collar. I’ll see if Vanson has a 42” on the shelf in May or June, when I absolutely can’t wear it (which all but guarantees they will).

I would choose the Royale Enfield over the basic Enfield as it is a slimmer cut.

I ordered another one in Blue Abyss Bainbridge in a size 38.

Bainbridge in blue will be incredible. Can’t wait to see that!

+1. excited to see this. curious whatsup with the navy bainbridge, not sure that leather has been covered much here. looks super cool. considering vanson custom through TB and would probably go z or x150, not sure what is available now. but curious about the navy bainbridge too.

Updated fit pics size 40. 5’9” 170lb 42chest 33waist. Side cinch straps buckled 1 hole from tightest position. You can see how this pattern follows the contours of the back.

The only measurement I’m worried about on my size 38 on order is the chest size. It will be 1.5-2in smaller than the 40, but might be a wash bc of the non-insulated liner and thinner leather. I’m also only going to be wearing t-shirts and will rarely zip up the jacket. The pic of Wade on the Thurston website shows him wearing a size 40 comfortably in the same leather, and he is 3in taller and 25lb heavier than me.

The Enfield has a different sleeve pattern as well. From the front, you can see the seams down the middle of the arms of the Oxford.

that fits you great. I remember we exchanged some DMs about it few months back. I was looking to get one in the maple bainbridge. BTW, 3 inches roughly translates to about 15 lbs, not an exact science of course. But for sure, thinner leather will give you more room and the gussets will help some too. No doubt though, that jacket is going to be tight.

I’m at my ideal weight, so hopefully the tight fit will incentivize me not to gain weight.

I have the maple Bainbridge in an Aero Hercules and am loving that leather more and more. At first, I thought it was a little light bc I’m so used to +3.5oz leather, but it really is the perfect balance for an everyday leather jacket.

Reading this thread, looking at your jacket and mine, I’m now wondering why I’ve got a Sheene fit jacket on its way? Sure look similar!!
The obvious answer is to sell me your Vanson whilst you pursue the Aero. I’ve done this dance before. Welcome to my world.

To be honest, if we had this convo 2-3 months ago, I might have but after a year the jacket suddenly loosened up and became really comfortable.
It’s weird how it just happened. And not gradually, just poof. Now it’s the perfect fit. It took a year however.
But I hear you, I’ve got the Sheene fit jacket on it’s way, arriving Wed, and now I’m looking at the Hooch too. My wife thinks I need medication.

Sadly there is nothing prescription or otc that can help. I’m going to go direct with Vanson as the process with TB seemed a bit long and expensive.
But....
When the time comes....
And it always does............

You have these images at your fingertips for all occasions?!?!?
Too bad you couldn't score this leather for the Oxford, but it will be really good in black too. There is a helluva good looking Schott in a similar style too, in black HH. 689H. Just came across it, and it is very nice!
edit....more moola though $825
