I've found this site by luck of the draw or should I say click on google. I'm beginning to get into the whole 40's and 50's look and I'm searching for ideas and places to find some vintage clothes or vintage looking clothes. Hairstyling websites or books that anyone might know of would be cool too. :) Any ideas would be a great help. Thank you!

Spend a few hours looking around the Powder Room and the Beauty folder. There are many threads (too many to list here) with a lot of information.

Welcome to the lounge. It's been laid out purposefully to help newbies like yourself to easily find all the information they could possibly need to get started. Please check out all the stickied threads in the PR and Beauty forums, and follow the instructions on how to use google to search for specific topics. Any more questions you have, add them on to the relevent thread (after reading through to check if your question has not already been answered) and we'll be glad to help.

Good luck!

South Jersey is RIPE with good thrift shops. Try Mullica Hill or the Antiquarium in Philly for vintage clothing and hair tools. I got quite a bit of my stuff from there.
