Hi to everyone, I am a novice to the vintage clothing world, (and also to posting on forums, so you'll have to forgive me any errors) and I need help with a sports jacket that I have bought on USA ebay. Perhaps the American members can give me some info on this jacket as to when it was likely to have been made. The jacket is made of some sort of gabardine, and is lined with a pale green silk or rayon type fabric. The buttons are leather football in styling with leather shanks. There is a manufacturer's label, indicating the jacket was made by (The) Real Sport (Clothing Company) of Philadelphia PA. I can find very little on the net concerning this manufacturer, and certainly no pictures or illustrations. There is no union label. Stylistically is this jacket a sports jacket, or an early or late western/ranch wear jacket? The jacket was sold as 1920's/30's, up to early 40's would also be ok for me. The seller had tried to clean a mark on the back edge of the jacket after listing, and has stained the jacket. Because of that stain I got the jacket fairly cheaply, compared to the original buy it now price, the major expense was the shipping from the USA to the UK. So if the jacket is not that old, then I have not lost too much.
Thanks for looking and for your help.
PS I am having trouble loading up my URLs so I have had to put the original ebay link on instead.
