New to forum with new hat

Hello,
I'm new to posting on this forum even though I've read posts on here for quite some time. I want to say thanks to all of you for all the great information.

I am the new owner of a Stetson Nostalgia. I'm really proud of it. It is the nicest hat I own. I have it in a diamond bash right now. Even though it is very tall I can drive my car with out out bumping the headliner. I hope to have pictures soon.

I know I could have had an Akubra for less money but I went with the Stetson Nostalgia because it is an American company in the style I like and one I hope they continue to make. So far it has been great and I have really enjoyed working that open crown. I wonder how many times I can bash it as I like nearly all the crown styles. If I get tired of this bash I may go with the early 1900s center dent and side pinch like the hatshop photos. The best case scenario would be to try that bash on a new hat!

My next hat will either be a Campdraft or another Nostalgia in Caribou Grey as mine is Mink Brown.

Congatulations on the Nostalgia and welcome Sir Tom. It's great that you found a hat your'e proud to own. I admired the Nostalgia when I first saw one, but went the Akubra route instead. The Campdraft is also a sweet fedora. I understand that Akubra made the Open Road for Stetson at one time.

It is my understanding also that the Campdraft is more like the original Stetson OR than the present OR from Stetson.

I may try to get a Campdraft this spring in silverbelly and bash it in the early 1900s style. Hopefully it will look a little different from the LBJ bash. I never really cared for LBJ. Truman yes but not LBJ.

I love the look of the Stetson Nostalgia and recently purchased one in caribou but sent it back when it didn't withstand a minor rain. I hope yours fares better. That was my priciest, sharpest hat to date.
I just recieved a moonstone Federation IV Deluxe to replace the Stetson.
Similar styling (though narrower ribbon unfortunately) to the Nostalgia.
And I KNOW the Akubras can take a beating.
